On April 1, 2022, Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) revised its open access policy recommending that publications resulting from the research it funds be made openly available by researchers within 12 months of publication. JST encourages researchers to make their datasets openly available and operates the J-STAGE Data platform. JST’s preprint server Jxiv was launched in March 2022.
CHORUS is a simple and affordable community-led solution for monitoring funded research output, open access content, and datasets. JST is a CHORUS funder participant and together they have regularly hosted Forums in Japan about the scholarly communications ecosystem.
This JST/CHORUS Forum will address for the library community in Japan some global and local developments in open access, datasets, preprints, and the monitoring of research output. The presentations and panelists will be as follows:
