Too much is wrong with scholarly metadata! Metadata serves as the cornerstone of discoverability, interoperability, and impact for Open Research. This workshop series brings together publishers, funders, institutions, and service providers to explore the critical role metadata plays in the research ecosystem. Through this series, participants will gain actionable insights into metadata curation, its current challenges, and strategies to align incentives for improved practices. Participants will leave Workshop 1 with an understanding of metadata’s vital role leading to Workshop 2 which will focus on actionable strategies for advocating, implementing, and sustaining metadata improvements with global metadata standards in mind.

Join us to transform the open research metadata landscape and ensure that the value of research is fully realized and accessible to all.
