Nominations to the CHORUS Board are now open! The CHORUS Board of Directors was elected by our membership last February during our Annual Members Meeting. We are now seeking your nominations for seats on the CHORUS Board that will be voted upon at the next CHORUS Annual Members Meeting scheduled for February 2019.
Appointments to the Board of Directors are for 3-year terms; the current Board was appointed under staggered terms to ensure continuity going forward. As per our bylaws the majority of Directors must be from member organizations and represent nonprofit organizations. This September, the CHORUS Nominating Committee will meet to select a slate of Directors for election by the membership. CHORUS members are invited to propose candidates (names w/ short bios) by contacting Fred Dylla (dylla@aip.org) as Chair of the Nominating & Governance Committee. We ask to receive your nominations by August 22, 2018.
The 2019 Annual Members Meeting will be held in tandem with the PSP Annual Conference. Formal notice of the meeting and vote will be sent in mid-December 2018 along with instructions for proxy voting for those who cannot attend. Notification of the election results will be sent to all CHORUS members after the event.
Your active participation in our governance and development ensures that CHORUS is responsive and evolving to meet the needs of the scholarly community. We encourage all members to participate in the election process and the Annual Meeting as well as in our working groups, or on an ad-hoc basis. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out anytime to Fred Dylla (dylla@aip.org) or Tara Packer (tpacker@chorusaccess.org).
