U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) released their revised public access plan on 30 June 2023. Read the USDOE announcement here. The plan describes how DOE-funded research and digital data will become more open and available to the public and how DOE will use persistent identifiers to help ensure scientific and research integrity. This plan builds on the July 2014 DOE Public Access Plan.
In addition, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking public input on the revised NIST Public Access Plan. The NIST Public Access Plan applies to the results of research funded wholly or in part by NIST, presented in peer-reviewed scholarly publications and as research data. Comments will be used to revise the existing NIST Policy for Providing Public Access to the Results of Federally Funded Research. More about how to submit comments can be found on the Federal Register Site.
All comments must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on August 14, 2023 to be considered.
